Proos wishes residents a happy Independence Day

Senator releases list of fireworks in Southwest Michigan

LANSING, Mich. — Southwest Michigan families and tourists looking for information on local fireworks shows this weekend can visit Sen. John Proos’ website for a complete list.

“Independence Day is a joyous time to treasure our freedoms, honor our country and remember the declaration more than two centuries ago that changed the world,” said Proos, R-St. Joseph. “I encourage everyone to have a fun and safe Independence Day as we celebrate America’s 240th birthday. Seeing the fireworks on the Fourth of July weekend is about as American as apple pie, and I am proud to offer residents a list of all the local fireworks shows.”

Visitors to Proos’ website can see a list of fireworks shows in more than a dozen communities in Berrien, Cass and St. Joseph counties. To see the complete list, visit and click on the Publications tab.

“While celebrating at parades, watching the fireworks or gathering together with friends and family for a picnic, I also encourage everyone to make this Fourth of July a safe one,” Proos said.
