LANSING, Mich. — Sen. John Proos recently welcomed Miss Blossomtime Riley Ellis, Mr. Blossomtime Garrett Brandt and the 2018 Blossomtime court to the Michigan Senate.
“The Blossomtime Festival is a wonderful family event that attracts thousands of visitors to Southwest Michigan in celebration of the region’s beauty and rich agricultural heritage,” said Proos, R-St. Joseph. “Hosting these outstanding young people at the Capitol is always a highlight of the year. I am always proud and impressed with their poise and enthusiasm. These fine young men and women are great ambassadors of our region and its people.”
The 112-year-old Blossomtime Festival is the oldest and largest multi-community festival in Michigan. This year’s festival began with the Blessing of the Blossoms on April 30 and concluded with the Grand Floral Parade in St. Joseph and Benton Harbor on May 5.
