LANSING – After listening to the governor’s 2011 State of the State address Wednesday night, state Sen. John Proos, R-St. Joseph, issued the following statement:
“The governor was right to focus his first State of the State address on fixing Michigan’s economy and creating jobs. My number one priority is jobs, and I am thrilled that the governor has come out of the gate with a bold, innovative blueprint to transform our state.
“The Legislature is united in our commitment to work together with the governor to reinvent Michigan through innovative use of technology. We are ready to lay the foundation to long-term economic growth by reducing the size and cost of state government.
“I am eager to help encourage business investment and job creation in our state by getting government out of the way. Governor Snyder understands that to bring job creators to Michigan, we must cut regulations and taxes that currently drive them to other states.
“The governor put forward an ambitious agenda to put Michigan back to work, and I look forward to making that happen.”
