LANSING, Mich. — Sen. John Proos on Wednesday congratulated Falcon Lakeside Manufacturing for receiving a grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) that will help the company expand into a new Berrien County facility.
“I am excited about this opportunity to see a great Southwest Michigan business continue to provide high-tech design, development and manufacturing services,” said Proos, R-St. Joseph. “With the help of this grant, Falcon Lakeside plans to expand into an additional location in Stevensville and Eau Claire in Berrien County, invest $1.8 million in capital equipment and building improvements, and create 27 jobs for area workers.”
Falcon Lakeside Manufacturing Inc. was established in 2001 as a consolidation of two companies. It now manufactures cast and machined products and serves several markets, including lightweight automotive components.
The company has been awarded a $135,000 Michigan Business Development Program (MBDP) performance-based grant and Cornerstone Alliance has offered staff time in support of the project. Michigan was chosen over a competing site in Indiana.
“This is outstanding news for Berrien County and Southwest Michigan,” Proos said. “These grants are extremely targeted and very competitive. I applaud everyone at Falcon Lakeside for their dedication to our community and the entire state.”
